Hebrews 4:8-11 (Message)

“And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t canceled at the time of Joshua; otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.” The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.”

It is clear when reading Hebrews 4:1-11 that there are two types of rest. The eternal rest to come and the rest for today.  How do we achieve the rest for today?  We surrender to our Lord Jesus.  We enter through the door of grace which is Jesus.  There is no situation whether spiritual, health, financial, family, etc. that is too great for our Bridegroom.

The key is that we rely on Christ and not our own efforts or works.  In connection with this we read Matthew 5:3 (Message).

“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.”

Our future, our identity, our security, our everything is in Christ.  That is why we give everything to Him and simply trust and wait for the most perfect solution and result.  When we live our life in the manner we will have peace and rest for today and we will enter into the eternal rest with the Father and Son at the appointed time.

May you increase a thousand times! (Deuteronomy 1:11)

11 May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!

Precious the Promise, I will guide thee with Mine eye

Verse 1
Precious the promise that God has given cheering the pilgrims while they pass by on the journey traveling homeward I will guide thee with mine eye.
Chorus
I will guide thee, I will guide thee, I will guide thee with Mine eye.  On the journey traveling homeward, I will guide thee with Mine eye.
Verse 2
Fear not the surging waters of babel, neither the tempter should he draw nigh, but remember , God gave the promise, I will guide thee with mine eye.
Chorus
I will guide thee, I will guide thee, I will guide thee with Mine eye.  On the journey traveling homeward, I will guide thee with Mine eye.

Powerful Promises of God, God is faithful to us! Hebrews 13:5-6

I will not worry or doubt, only trust.  God will not fail me.
Hebrews 13:5-6
“…and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]. So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?

Release Bitterness, loss, Injustice (ashes), Take the Blessing the Lord has for You (Beauty)!

Isaiah 61
Amplified Bible (AMP)

61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] [a]and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

Aliens shall stand [ready] and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; people will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and the glory [once that of your captors] shall be yours.

Instead of your [former] shame you shall have a twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach [your people] shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double [what they had forfeited]; everlasting joy shall be theirs.

For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong with violence or a burnt offering. And I will faithfully give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with them.

And their offspring shall be known among the nations and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge that they are the people whom the Lord has blessed.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as [surely as] the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth, so [surely] the Lord God will cause rightness and justice and praise to spring forth before all the nations [through the self-fulfilling power of His word].
