We may be going through great hardship and difficulty. When I consider this, the thought comes that we should choose to praise the Lord, especially in the difficult moments. Praise and thanksgiving will open the door to the future, just as when we forgive and are forgiven the door of the past is closed. Consider the words of a well known song:
“When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrow like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
‘It is well, it is well with my soul.'”
