Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; Preserve my life from fear of the enemy. 2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, 3 Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words, 4 That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear. 5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will see them?” 6 They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. 7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded. 8 So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away. 9 All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing. 10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.
Satan wants us to fear and worry in times of trouble. He wants us to fall apart. However, we should not fear anyone or anything, because by doing so we fall into the hand of the evil one. Rather, let us do as it says in Psalm 64:10 “The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.” This is because we are in the hand (John 10:28) of the almighty God who reigns on the throne in heaven. We do not even need to fear those who do evil against us because God will turn it into good. Genesis 50:20 says “20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
Let’s focus on the greatness and goodness of God, especially in the most difficult of times. God will bless this attitude. Let us also declare God’s promises to us in faith. For instance let’s call upon the Lord to fulfill Deuteronomy 15:6 over us:
“6 For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.”
Dear Lord, I thank you that right now you are fulfilling your promise over me that you will bless me, that I will lend to many nations and will not borrow. Please give me the insight and understanding to more and more see your plan and walk in your pathway of blessing. Amen.
